TVH comes to your planet with a message
- and a warning: People of Earth: you've lost the plot. Your
taste in music stinks. Stop now before it's too late. Your
biggest selling records are by latex-coated robots dancing
in vacant lockstep to the bleeping and clanking of giant computers.
Your so-called 'Alternative' and 'Indie' Rock is slack and
feeble. Most of the rest: reheated leftovers, dumbed down
and diluted to nothing. Your vaunted Punk Rock is nostalgic
novelty music, about as relevant and dangerous as Dixieland
Jazz. Rock'n'Roll -- once your deadliest weapon -- is detected
as only a dim pulse by even our most powerful scanners; a
secret language known and understood by a few last members
of your dying species. End of message.
Johnny Strike speaks the secret language. He speaks it fluently.
Back in '76 he led CRIME: San Francisco's First & Only
Rock'n'Roll Band, and one of the few groups of their era to
tap the pure, vital source. Too wild for the radio, the few
records they left behind have a raw potency that few others
can lay claim to. Now, along with bassplayer Jimmy Crucifix
and drummer Biff O'Hara, Johnny Strike is back with TVH. "Hot
Wire My Heart" re-ignites the original CRIME fuse, while
new sparks blind and fly on explosive NOW creations like "Black
Light", "Yo! Slim Fats" and "Tibetan Head".
NIGHT RAID ON LISBON STREET brings you haunted, hunted tales
from deserted towns, dark nightclubs, dank gutters, dusty
crossroads, and the pits of deep, forgotten wells -- all rigged
up to the primal Rock'n'Roll pulsebeat. Listen, learn the
language, and maybe you can save your planet.
